Our hui believes that Moʻopono is the all encompassing relationship between moʻolelo (story), moʻokūʻauhau (genealogy), and moʻopuna (descendants). Moʻo refers to the idea of succession and is the foundation of genealogy. Moʻopono thus refers to the succession of stories, lineages, genealogies, ancestors, and their descendants. This project is meant to link all of these different "moʻo" in a way that empowers people to improve and do good for the Lāhui (people of Hawaiʻi).
Since our website is continually growing and evolving, we realize we may not efficiently address the unique and individual needs of all moʻopuna (descendants) interested in researching their moʻokūʻauhau (genealogy).
Please contact us if you need further assistance in your researching needs and to share any feedback on how to improve our website.
